Well....I had a great weekend!

Started the weekend by driving down to Salisbury MD to go to the Ward museum and visit the Chesapeake Challenge. I'd known a little about the upper bay hunting traditions, but got to sample some of the Eastern Shore waterfowling history this weekend. I guess I didn't get around enough when I last lived here. Saw some absolutely amazing decoys this weekend in the comp, and a ton of really nice stuff in the waterfowling flea market out in the parking lot (ate some great DelMarVa grilled chicken, too!). Picked up a really nice canvas swan decoy at a bargain price, carved by a guy in North Carolina. My little apartment is now officially overpacked with waterfowling goodies.
Last night, my wife called me and said I'd have to change Duncan's titles with the AKC as she and he'd been successful in earning the last two legs of his Senior Hunter title this weekend at the Middle Tennessee Hunt Test in LaVergne, TN. I'm extremely proud of both of them. Since I lost my job, she's taken over the training because he's staying in AL while I'm 'commuting' back and forth to MD and they've both done a really terrific job. I'm really looking forward to picking him up in just a few weeks and starting getting back to 'real' hunting. Her little guy, Quinn, also picked up his second JH leg.
Next weekend is our decoy show in Decatur, AL and I'm looking forward to seeing how our dekes stack up against the challenge birds. I'm hoping for a good turnout, but I'm sure we'll have a great time getting together in any case. Hope to see you there!

Bill,
great news bud, must be nice to live in an area with that much waterfowling history.

Around here you just go to the feed store and look at a bag of corn

Bill,
Sounds great, congratulations! Can you point me to some web resources for the AKC hunt tests? I would like to learn about what they have going in New Jersey.
Thanks,
Dave
