You have given me an idea for a new fundraiser for the site. At 5 bucks a pop anyone can enter a guess as to the number of "accident free days" till Brian's next mishap. Closest guess wins an autographed "accident souvenir" from Brian. :>) :>)
 
Oh come on!!! I broke my leg in 2 places on the 15th of Aug. Worked every day on it till the 28th of Aug. That's when I decided it wasn't healing as fast as I thought it should. The doctor said that was "All Maden Team". He asked what took so long to decide I should see a doctor and I told him I was just trying to prove I'm as tough as my wife. Now I've been out of work since the 28th of Aug and it looks like I'll go back to work 3 days befor the season comes in here. How have I spent my leisure you ask, I built a boat! Should have paint on it this weekend.
Now man up and go hunting. That's what Wiz Bos would do!

Sorry to hear of your disaster. Those must have been some leaves......

Look on the bright side: This is a PERFECT OPPORTUNITY to build a boat with a wheel chair ramp. I bet Sam Devlin can draw up some plans for you... Can you teach your doctor to make camo pattern casts?

Now, if you can just get some guys to come and pick you up, then set the decoys and hand you some hot coffee..... well you can still hunt ducks! Let the wife know it hurts real bad when you pluck feathers. If I were you, I would bend one of those crutches so she would have to wait on you hand and foot. Play this up as much as you can. You will be healed up before you know it and will be having to take the garbage out again!! When you get to feeling better, keep it a secret. If she starts to suspect you, just talk to people who are not there.

Bri, I empathsize with you--perhaps Gigantor will riga travois to drag your inert, horizontal bod out to the gunning grounds---he can always use a block and tackle to get you into a stand, or as you said, to a ground blind for goats---It really sucks to get old, buddy!

Don't give away the secret man! I can almost smell Dumfries now. To put some nails in the deal I've even sent her off for a small holiday with her girlfriends shopping and dinning up North. As I stay home and hobble about maintaining our humble homestead to the best of my ability. Ain't I crafty though : )

As to the comments of the fine Mr. Patterson. I'm am indeed animated! Remember Fred Flinstone? Well there ya go. A Bronto Burger and A remote control and I sir, am a happy man!

By the way, I did have a small accident with some pinking shears today, but I'm sure I'll be OK.

For my first post here, let me say that I feel your pain. Jan 08 I was hunting in Maryland. Last morning I slipped on a very small patch of ice and went ass over kettle. When I landed I broke my right leg just above the ankle. The guide and my friends were asking if I wanted to stay at the ramp and go to the hospital. I told them no freakin way, I drove all the way up here to hunt, so I did. Scored on a nice canvasback too. So camo the chair and ride it out
 
Brian sorry to hear that you broke a number of bones. We will have some good stories for the pool party at Westlake. Hope you heal soon and good luck with the wheel chair. HHG
