Whacko Chaco!

The morning of the 4th found Bev and me by the pond sipping coffee and watching the pups. I snapped this shot of Cayenne with Chaco just behind her. Things seemed to be so serene!

It was about then that Chaco found out how much fun it was to play tag, especially with Cayenne and Salsa.

He took off, ran around Bev's studio, came back towards the pond and decided to duck under Salsa who was just standing there so innocently. Well, his judgement wasn't so good and he clocked her a good one under her chin. Even lifted her foot off the ground and snapped her ear forward.

After that he acted just like a March hare. What a character!

I can hardly wait to take a picture of Chaco retrieving a duck.

Hey Al,
That Chaco has the greatest expressions. He seems to have the look of a little devil.
I can't wait to see the first retrive he makes for you this fall

He reminds me a lot of my male chocolate, Porter. He will be 5 next month but will still take off like that if I get him going. He used to make those same crazy devil dog faces when he was sprinting around. Good luck, if Chaco is anything like Porter you are going to have your hands full. Luke

Al,

It seems that every time you post photos of wild eyed pups they are near the water feature....It must be something in that water, what are you adding to the water? C'mon fess up....

Thanks so much, George. I think he also has a touch of that in him but just a touch. Bev is walking him now and you should see him with the sit and then down on his tummy routine. He is doing well.

Hey, Luke, thanks so much for posting that pic of Porter. Sounds as if your timing on him was perfect for duck season. Best of luck this year. I'll look forward to seeing some pics.

Matt, I agree with you wholeheartedly----it has to be the water. It is such a rare commodity down here that when they get around it maybe they just don't know how to act. Starting today, we are going to begin taking our dogs to a small lake for some swimming practice along with tossing a few bumpers. I can hop along on one crutch. We'll see how it goes. I'll fill you in.

Nice pics Al
That seen plays out at our place too.

Doug, it is good to hear from you. How is everything going now that you have made that big move? Any time you have some new pics of the pups in their new environment, I sure hope you'll post them.
