What a weekend...

I read Mark's post and I can honestly say we had the same kind of day Friday and Saturday. It was so snotty again yesterday that nobody took any photos of the incoming hordes but those pictures of Mark's were very reminiscent. It was almost anti-climactic when I finally dropped a drake woodie to finish up...it's been so long since 3 guys were blessed enough to get full limits that I honestly forget the last time. We really got into the blacks the past few days to round out limits of greenheads and Friday I was lucky enough to get a nice bull pintail that was missing his sprig. I passed one up today at about 45 yards...after finishing ducks like we did I just didn't feel it was necessary to shoot at something outside of 25 yards. Even a few greenwings showed up and stayed. What a weekend...good buddies and great hunting(and a very patient wife!). My buddy Adam is somewhere on the road to Marquette with a new trinket for the second year in a row.

Congratulations Jay,

Times like that with good friends are what makes a "lifetime" hunt.

Had one myself about a week ago. We left the house at 1200 and were set up over the decoys by about 1300. Had birds trying to land even as we set them out. Finished with 2 seven bird limits by 14:45.

Hope you have many more like that one.

Thanks guys. It was a very memorable weekend for sure. I also had a stellar goose hunt around lunch time today. I love when you get the call...."hurry and get out here" and a half hour later your dropping birds in the spread and still have time to do some work in the office. I think we'll probably lose a ton of birds this week. Lots of snow and ice.
