What's your 'Bucket List'?

Hi Folks. Haven't been around this ol' site in months. Nice to see things are still going well.

With the movie 'The Bucket List' coming out soon and, as I understand, the premise about a couple guys making of list of things to do before they kick the bucket, I was thinking... What three duck related things would I like to do before kicking the bucket? Let's see, I've already gone sea duck hunting on Cape Cod with my hunting partner(David Clark, guide) and Saskatchewan goose/duck hunting with three of my buds, so here goes:

1) duck & dove hunting in Argentina
2) hunt flooded timber in Arkansas
3) take my new lab pup all the way to a MH title

Not sure if I can accomplish them, but if I don't aim high I won't hit high!

Anyone else want to share their list?

Andrew,

Same as one of mine, get some brant over decoys I've made and maybe out of a boat I've made. Heck, might as well add some sea ducks to that trip, say harlies over hand made harly decoys.

#2 Take my kids out for more hunts so they may be able to appreciate the beauty of the world as seen by a waterfowler and so I may learn from them how they view the world through their eyes.

#3 Kodiak Island for ducks and deer. Say some eiders and all the other birds of that area with a nice 4X4 blacktail.

So many goals and dreams in this world, it is truly hard to narrow it down to just a top 3.

its hard to narrow that one down but here goes.

#1 sea duck hunt in maine.

#2 kill a mature drake and hen of each north american duck specie and have that pair mounted.
#3 hunt argentina for ducks.

also on that list is to carve every NA specie and kill birds of that specie over decoys of that specie. live out retirement in a house on lake champlain. hunt out of a boat i build. many other to go with that.

Ed,

If you don't mind New Hampshire, I can help with the sea duck hunt.

I have three.

First, I want to find my replacement. I have no sons and my daughter doesn't have much interest in shooting sports. I have 16 male nephews, most of whom have been taught that guns are bad. I'm hoping I can corrupt one or two of them. If not one of them I'll have to pick up a kid from the gun club, but there aren't many kids coming out anymore.

Second, I want to make a good retriever out of my young lab. She's a softer dog than I've had before, but sweet as can be and tries hard. I hope I can give her the patience she deserves.

Third, I want to get my 9 year old German Shorthair hunting again. She blew out her ACL 3 days into the season this year. The vet thought she was a goner, but we did the surgery and it's all I can do to keep her quiet. No limp at all!

That should keep me busy.

1. Goose hunting in Iceland

2. Black duck hunting in the maritime provinces

3. Sea ducks in Washington or New England or both

Looking out over a set of decoys on the water, I would like to see the very first moment of sunrise last about five hours.

I would also like to see all my flock of home made decoys all look exactly alike, and with no ice build-up during those super cold mornings.

I would like to see my sons enjoy the same great shooting of the 1970's that I enjoyed, but took for granted at the time.

Finally, one more, I would like to wait quite a while longer before I see the Bucket.

I like this question.

1) Duck & dove hunting in Argentina.

2.) Diver limit - 3 scaup, 2 redheads and 2 canvasbacks.

3.) A few DBHP hunts across the country like the West Coast Hunt back in 2001 with Parks, Sutton and the rest of the gang.

Here it goes :
1. I want to go diver hunting/sea duck hunting with someone from the site.
2. Go to Canada or close north where the ducks fly all day with my friend Jim.
3. Build my own boat with my boys help.
can I have a four?
4. Learn to carve dcoys.

bill NH is fine with me as long as there are black and white ducks to be shot. if you cant find a new recruit im only 21 and id be glad to be adopted and accept any hand-me-downs from you like old hand carves or favorite shotguns and what not ;)

so you adopt me then i can teach leslie to carve ducks he can hunt with us "where the ducks fly all day" near the canadien border, we can sea duck hunt which will be a "dhbp site hunt" and that will cover most of the three of ours bucket list wishes.

2008 here we come haha

Matt , the sea duck thing could happen, im about 4 hours east of you, and have shot a few scoter, even seen an oldsquaw or three.

As far as the bucket list goes, I shoot for the floor.

1. Continue to simplify the hunt (gear wise that is)

2. To just have that one great day a year.

3. Always have like minded friends to share it with, and complain to each other when nothing goes right!

Before I can learn to carve I need to learn to spell decoy. Sounds like a plan for me! Ed I hunted today and we were iced up pretty good. My decoy works double duty, mama's mantle and going hunting. I figure if he gets scratched and dirty she'll want a replacement.

1.Have Divers drop into my rig.

2.Make a sneak and shoot same.

3.Clean and eat same.

I'm easy

Doug didn't mean to cut into your thread. My bucket list would be two strong shoulders again then the rest would come.

HUNT WITH MY SONS...........
CARVE WITH MY SONS...........
AND BUILD A SNEAKBOX WITH MY SONS...........
.........NOTHING ELSE COULD BE MORE IMPORTANT TO ME!!!!!!

to be a grandpa and teach my grandson or granddaughter to shoot, hunt, and fish -- and to live long enough to go on a trip with them to do one of the above

maybe a sea duck hunt and a red stag hunt

to be around long enough to celebrate my 75th. wedding anniversary with the little wife!

After last fall mine has changed a bit.
1. Be able to hunt for many, many years.
2. Not have a dog "kick the bucket " early
3. Chase those ducks from Alaska to Mexico.
Actually answered that #3 to a financial advisor once when asked about retirement plans.
If I would be allowed a #4 it would be a flooded timber hunt.
