Where are some good hunting shows - eastern US

I'm looking for some ideas on the names, locations of upcoming - yearly hunting shows or exhibitions in the eastern US where I could attend and advertise for clients for hunting trips in Nova Scotia for sea ducks - sink tub hunting. Any other suggestions for places to go or contact would be welcome.

Phillip:

There's a nice show in Presque Isle, ME, run by the Presque Isle Fish and Game Club. http://www.pifg.org/

It's small and local compared to the other suggestions, but gets lots of attendees from northern Maine and New Brunswick. It's also the most fun/best run show in Maine, in the opinion of many of us who attend a lot of them.

Others in Maine include the Maine Sportsmen's Show in Augusta (usually right around April 1) and the Eastern Maine Sportsmen's Show in Brewer.

I think a duck tub presentation/demo would go over well! You also might find some clients interested in coming up to try a new way to chase sea ducks.

Hey Philip-

How's it going? Been wondering how things were going for you. You retired yet?

Hope that all is well for you

If you want to travel just a little farther West, Central Ohio has a pretty good one in the Waterfowler's Bootcamp.

Third weekend in July. Morrengo, Ohio about half hour North of Columbus.

Always seems to be a pretty good contingency from these parts who make their way up North every year.

Hi there;

Things are going well. I'm not retired yet but I could have taken early retirement on November 30th. Keeping busing working on boats, the large fish sheds and family home on the island. Lots of Old Squaw (pin tails) and white wing coots up here this year and also eiders (just arriving now). Figure its time to look for business for the sea duck season next year and start up at least on a limited basis for December and early January 2013/14.

Hope things are well down your way. You and Steve's trip up here is still a topic of conversation. Especially chasing the pheasant out the back door in your Winnie-the-Pooh pajamas and down across the field ... or was that Steve?

The Harrisburg show is definitely a good one, though a bit pricey if you're going to set up as an exhibitor. Columbus, OH has a Deer and Turkey Expo in March that is upposed to be pretty good too. Erie has a show the week before in March. This show has a lot of the Outdoor Guides showcasing what they can offer potential clients. I can get you more info on either show if you want. I've been thinking of setting up at both shows to sell calls, I just haven't committed to either yet. Harrisburg is way out of my league; however, you'll get more traffic there.
