is the length and width measured at the furthest point each way? if not, where at? thanks.

I think for these duck boats it is the farthest point each way. On larger boats like sailboats you might have three length measurements, LOA=Length Overall, includes overhangs, bow sprits, ect, LOD=Length on Deck, self explanitory and LWL=length of Waterline. The beam is the width of the boat at its widest point, that is usuallu on deck but could be somewhere down the topsides if there is tumblehome to the desigh, ie- the hull comes to its widest point then tapers back in toward the deck, fairly common in canoes.

most boats are measured front too back tip too stern then bottom width with beam measurement thrown in for good measure ie 1448 = 14 ft long 48 inch bottom my 1448 has a 72inch beam (widest point of the top rail)

Mine is measured the same as above.
Boat is advertised as a 20' with 72" beam.
Actual dimensions of my boat is as follows. 20' length, 72" at the bottom and 96" at the top widest point.
