Hey all,Does anyone have a recipe for painting a white winged scoter Hen and drake...from bill color to body color. And a common eider hen and drake....from bill to body.

thanks for your help

Here's a couple pics from my Gallery. I did these Eider for a fella to give as a wedding present to his friends. My painting inspiration was from Keith Muellers Eiders.
I do have some step by step pics I could email to you. I have been figuring on doing a tutorial soon on these to put on the website also. I'll have to check but I should also have my color palette on these as well.

I thought I saw an old E. Allen ad that said Keith Mueller carved some of the masters. Is this true? If so which ones?
It seems your blocks would be good for practicing painting, hens in particular.

Hi Andy,
Yes, Keith carved a bunch of our masters. I was just getting ready to do a thread on that and will get that going in a day or so.
Birds Keith carved for us: Mag. Mallard series, Teal, Widgeon, Gadwall, Standard Bufflehead, Standard Goldeneye, Standard Oldsquaw/Harlequin, Pintail, Shoveler, Mag. Canvasback, Common Merganser, Giant Bluebill (Big Blue), Eider, Scoter.

You can find pics on our website under "unpainted decoys" as well as in the downloadable catalog.

More to come,
