Who made it out this morning??

Teal season began at 6:36 this morning although the Teal didn't come around to the party.

I started the day at 3:00AM, walked out the door to a full moon and 60 degrees air temp. Left from the boat launch, heading upriver at 3:45AM. Absolutely beautiful morning to be out and about.

Watched the geese paddle around, a few deer graze their way thru the timber and a raccoon forage along the shoreline.

I do hope everyone else had an enjoyable day.

No teal season here but today was opening day of early goose season. Didn't make it out but have a plan to try something different for geese on Monday. Looks like you had an enjoyable morning, even if no birds were around to play.

Glad you were able to get out on the water Dave. I scouted for Dove on Monday at a public WMA I typically hunt September 1st. DNR didn't plant anything this year so very few Doves were seen. Decided not to go. Tuesday, I decided to put up my deer stand on my favorite island spot. Didn't get there. The outboard decided it needed a spa day so it went to the shop. I got to watch a guy set up in my spot across from the house this morning and kill two Geese. I got the boat back this afternoon after the oil module got replaced. That was a quick $300. I agreed to family time this weekend so no hunting until Tuesday for me. Good luck to everyone getting out.

you posted plans for Harry Megargee's barnegat bay sneak box from field & streams dec 1947
I built a plug from those plans back about 1979/1980 there are a few floating around the country.
my friend has one that was laid up by the company in maine that did the TDB's
HE would like a set of the plans for his shop.
is it potable to get a copy of the plans from you

Thanks. Bill Perry

I'm at OBX for the week. Enjoying the sun and sand with no plans to hunt geese until the regular season rolls around.

Hi Bill,

I hope you're doing well. I'm sorry as I don't have them any longer. The computer that I had the files on has long since died and the hard copy I had was damaged in a flood some years ago and thrown away.

I have the Magargee plans at my office. I can scan and email to Bill if he wants.

Looks like a good day for the beautiful sunrise club. A few more weekends here and our woodduck/teal season will open up. I might get out for that. Gotta check water levels on some ponds.

I made it out... for doves. A family affair with 8 of us out there. Limits were easy for anyone that could shoot. I was done in 30 minutes then put the gun away and took my dog around to help others find lost birds in the weedy field.

Made it out first four days. Very successful. Second season for pup and very happy. It was only his sister's second hunt. Shot over the new BWT decoys from George. Perfect!IMG_9017.jpgIMG_9016.jpgIMG_8994.jpgIMG_9019.jpg

This morning's duck becomes tonight's dinner. [cool]

I have not made it out yet. Closed on a new house on opening morning so moving was a priority. I won't be guiding or going to Saskatchewan this year so my ducker will probably see the most water is has seen in a season since I have owned it.

Cinnamon looks like some birds would be a welcome bit of excitement. Least you got out there and got to see the sun rise in a beautiful place with a cool boat and a dog at your side. Must be nice to be back out on the water again.
