70 degrees, Flash Flood Warnings, Tornado Warnings and South winds about 25 mph do not make for a good day to be on the water.
Of course the forecast for next week when I am back at work is for lows in the upper 20s and highs in the 50s and light north winds. Go figure.

Where I the forum "dislike" button? For what is worth, we decided to stay home today, too. Saw 8 total ducks hunting Thursday, and thought there was no way this weather would improve things. Good day to catch up on chores!

I am hoping they move a little once the front passes overnight. So we will be out tomorrow.
But I am really hopeful for next weekend, with the big chill coming. I foresee us hunting the big salty water for redheads and greater scaup next weekend.
 
Carl, that is the first part of the storm that passed through here. Soi far there have been 3 days of snow with last night's total between 4 and 6 inches. Tonight will be clear skies with the temps dropping to 10F. That is why I won't be going out tomorrow AM. Roads are still ice covered and there is supposed to be a heavy fog, also.

Carl - It has been a very wet two days hunting here in N. Bama, ha. But no tornado warnings, that's where I draw the line.
 
So we waited until Sunday morning once the front passed through and went out and found a spot. Put up about 500 gadwalls when we motored in. About 50 came back, but they would not land near any blind. Even the coots are blind shy. Did end up with 6 coots for gumbo.
Got back to the dock and talked a guy who was launching as we were taking out. He hunted Saturday in the stormy/rainy/windy weather, in the same area we were in. He said the gadwalls were crashing in like it was opening day, trying to get off the rough water to the south. Anytime there was a break in the rain, birds poured in.

I feel your pain Carl. The spot I wanted to hunt (in the SE corner of Lake Ontario) had 40 mph NW winds this morning with gusts of 48. I'm waiting till tomorrow.

I'm more concerned about the snow that will have been deposited on the road between here and there. Sunny here today, but it's another story up there. Hopefully the lake effect will let up with the wind shift tonight.
