Will this do, Steve?

You lucked out..... Got home from church and finished up the heads. Did a visual check on how they looked on the cutouts, and then it started to rain. Might as well go carve when that happens.

Decided to drop the wing on both. Usually a pain, but this pattern makes it easy to get creative - as a matter of fact, the drop-wing isn't even drawn into it, but there's enough stock on the cutout to get it in freehand.

Yours is on the left, Steve:

No shortcuts here - heads & tails pegged.

As requested, drop the wing:

At six p.m. my girls told me the rain had stopped. I quit to walk down to the pool with them. Enough for today.

That's yours on the right now - I did it first so I could correct any mistakes on mine ;-) (Didn't make any - yet)

Carve-Master!!!!!!!!!!,

You're killing me. You make this look like a walk in the park. You also make a guy thin that maybe it can be done especially when it's raining.

Very NICE!!!

something accomplished by only one other person and basically he told me to "shut up"....which I guess, technically doesn't count...

I'm going to keep hoping for rain....lots of it.....

Gorgeous.....ooops I fogot...I'm speechless......

are you a displaced Texian?

Sweet bird.....

Steve

Naw, if I was from Texas, I never would have left. That state is where I plan to retire, or move before then....

I saw that plinth block in Lowes and thought it would make a neat decoy stand. I have several like that.

I thought "if not from Texas then its one of those "thingies" that goes inthe corner of a door frame......now I know that you not from Texas and also what the real nmae of those "thingies" is.....

Thanks,

Steve

Yup!!

I have a few with different designs. Shoot, they're only a buck or two and make neat decoy stands, I think.

Bob,
Awesome decoys

I was wondering when you dowel a head, do you run a hole through the body then glue the head on and run the drill back through the body in to the head to get the correct angle?

Craig

I'm sure that info can be found under the "how to " section in the pattern book Bob's going to put out,........... right Bob ...........Bob? awww c'mon pleeeease ! its very difficult to try and copy your work from just these teasing pics !!

Glue the head on (use pressure from a quick clamp while the glue sets whenever feasible) , THEN run the hole up through the body and into the head. Helps to have a real steady hand and excellent aim.

I one day hope to "own a furia" too!

Zach

There are five of the seven Furia children still living at home. I will sell them at $10 each if you return them after college.

Heh heh heh....I've seen the boys eat and shoot...college would be the cheap part of owning one.
