I hear thee on the price of some wines. I only buy Decoy when it's on sale. Lots of good wine is on the shelves these days. Can't beat the Bota Box Wine, for the $$ or the good glass of wine every time.
As long as air cannot get to the product like in good box wine, it's much better than bottles.
Only problem with good, or not so good box wine. You start to drink it with a small wine glass, then somewhere down the line you go for a larger water glass... and next thing ya know you start taking long naps in the middle of the day or evening. Ha!
Yellow Tail makes a decent product, and last time I checked had replaced Lambrusco as the world leading selling wine. But I've not kept up with wine periodicals and product up dates since I retired. I do miss going to Wine&Spirit school and trying different products, always learning something of importance and interest.
I do recall when TWO BUCK CHUCK hit the market. That really shook up the wine industry, and folks ran like bunnies to buy it by the case.
Since the world wide glut of wine, prices are now better than ever if you shop around.
