Wood Duck house

Guys, in my garage I have an old wood duck house that I was wondering if anyone can supply any info on. I got it out of a swamp years ago as it hadn't been tended in decades. It's a sheet metal cylinder, approx 14" in diameter, two foot tall and has a sheet metal Cone for a roof. There is a hole cut in the side of the cylinder approx. 16" up. It's galvanized construction and is somewhat rusted at the bottom. It's marked XXXXXX Sportsmans Club (which is no longer in existence), but I can tell you no one has seen this thing in 40 years or more. When did they make a lot of sheet metal wood Duck boxes, as I can't seem to find much on the internet about it.

Many years ago Ohio had round metal boxes. They were made at the state prison in Columbus, if I remember correctly. The cost got too high and they discontinued making them. Switched to reject f-glass tubes, that they got free. Ohio doesn't do anything now. Bought in to the thinking that there are plenty of natural sites available. I have one of the metal boxes on my pond, that's used almost every year.
