Woodrow arrives, cold, but happpy!

Woodrow arrived at 1pm this afternoon after a quick flight from Hitch in Florida. I had a little trouble at first with him not really wanting to get out of the box and into the water/ice with his old girlfriend Willamina a hen woody carved by Dave Sikorski and sent to me so that Woodrow would feel more at home on his last leg of his 2006/2007 DHBP hunting adventure.

It took a few "shooter's" of Vodka, Rum amd Tequila to get him brave enough to jump in the water/ice and join his old girlfriend Willamina that was also carved by Dave Sikorski.

Once Woodrow got a few under his belt, he was ready to check out his old girlfriend to make sure she had been true to him while visiting out west with Wilber (on the left) a gift to me by Steve Sutton several year's ago. All 3 seem to be getting along fine. Woodrow did ask me if I had a coat that would fit him and I told him that I would talk to Judy about it tonight.

Them local wood ducks don't have a chance with this Trio on the ponds!

Dave he's just a cry baby. Didn't you tell him we live in a "Banana Belt" and he should not get to used to drinking that way. Look what it's done to you and me.

I'm a let-down, 3 1/2 hours after Woodrow arrived I missed a drake wood duck that came right in and landed next to him. I stood up and missed TWICE with that new Ruger Red Label!

And that was it until nearly dark when a few more woody's came in, but it was too late to tell the drakes from the hens. I had two honkers come right over the pond by that big oak where you like to shoot, but I had lowbase 7-1/2's in the 20 ga. Red Label for wood duck over decoys. Oh, those geese were LOW......DAMN!

Oh well, tomorrow is another day and I'm going to shoot 3" 20 ga. #5's in that new Verona O/U. wW have until Sunday to get some birds over Woodrow.

Honesty.....the reason that I love this website. So many others brag about it but when it really gets right down to it this is the site to beat,,,Ihoope I have a chance to get Woodrow close to some Missouri woodies with Tizmo and Hitch next season.

All I can say is....it won't happen again! (well, I hope so anyway) :^)

I would love to get at least a few woodies over Woodrow, the birds are around, but I'll have to break ice everytime I try to hunt. It's been un-usually cold for 3 weeks now. What we need is a warm rain. my big pond is about half ice free now.

The pond water has been so cold that I saw a 7 pound bass swim by the duck blind today. Actually it was a 4 pound bass wearing a 3 pound overcoat!

As for hunting with Woodrow next season, you'll need to save up some money. When I get done with Woodrow I'm shipping him back to his owner/creater Dave Sikorski who has donated Woodrow and his hunting journal (filled out by all those that hunted over him during the 2006-2007 season to Eric and Woodrow will be auctioned off as a unique way to help support this web-site we all enjoy taking part in. But, I'm sure there will be another decoy donated for next season.

I had just enough room on Woodrow to add my name to the list of all that enjoyed Woodrow's company this season. The Journal was very intereting to read. Woodrow and his travel journal would make a great and unique addition to anyones decoy collection, especially for those that frequent this DHBP forum.

I can't believed you missed! You have totally blew my image of you. I told you to have your wife do the shooting. You do the drinking and leave the shooting to her. When your wife gets the first woody shot over woodrow you'll have to put woodrow in rehab ( drug rehab that is) before the big auction. You might forget all those fancy guns and do it the "old fashion way". :)

Glad there was enough room for your J. Hancock. I thought that might be a problem as his travels progressed.

Keep breaking that ice and keep him from fighting Wilbur. You know what booze and ladies do to two bachelors.

Woodrow seems to be favoring the Sauza Tequila, now that's my kind of bird. I am partial to the Tres Generaciones, Siver.
 
I've lost track of the number of hunts and hunters but this has got to be a record. So far Woodrow has managed to keep ALL of us that hunted over him, from harvesting a Woodie. I'd say Woodrow has heap strong medicine bag. Too bad PETA was the one to fill his bag. Wonder just what kind of crazy voodo they put in there.

I don't know, there is a lot of conspiracies on the net. This is the first on Duck Boats.

Could PETA be a under laying cause. Bad juju, Some force escaping from a black hole. Will the real truth come out a hundred years from now.

It's up to a Mountain Man named Parks, with a couple of hundred years experience, a keen eye, a sharp nose, a sleuthing ability known to few, to resolve this enigma.
