workbench December

Steve

I've only seen power washers. I think a few carpet cleaning businesses use steam, but am not sure.

We finally got the grease all off, but it took some work. The motor bracket you see all taken apart and hanging was soaked for several days in pure simple green. I filled a stock pot with five gallons and left it until the grease was dissolved. The engine pan was by far the worst. It couldn't be soaked like the bracket without pulling the head so we just kept spraying with simple green and blasting with the pressure sprayer. Like I said, the previous owner was an idiot but that's all behind up now.

We start putting it back together this evening. Thomas is on the way back from hunting right now. He and Patrick have been on a tear. They called a few minutes ago with a mixed bag limit. With the mild temps were are getting my hunch is this will be the last big day for a few weeks.

I see from the web that Steam Jenny still exists as a company. I imagine the big steam cleaners - as for auto shops - are too dangerous for the rental market.

Glad there's gunning down your way. There have been very few birds hereabouts. It is my second year running with NO birds taken here in "upstate New York". My partners have taken just a small handful. I will shoot a few birds on Long Island in January - as I did last year.

All the best,

If it runs as well as the Nissan 18 I had years ago, it?s a good investment!
Electric start?

Carl

It does have electric start. In fact we tested that last night and it seems to be working fine. I remember that 18 you were running. From everything I remember the Nissan/Tohatsu outboards of that era were very good outboards. On par with Yamaha and Merc.

Steve,

Ya got the cutlery and call category pretty well covered. A man of many skills and talents. A outdoors person gotta have good knives in the outdoors, as well as indoors. They hold Big Medicine passed from generation to generation.

Two thumbs up.

Best regards
Vince

Yep, I should have kept that motor when I sold the 1440 mv Jon boat.
Sure do miss electric start!

The recipient really liked that oyster knife, and the giver had a hard time turning it over. It's actually on the North Shore of Mass now.

The bonus call you stuck in was much appreciated, but does not seem to magically bring in the birds on the days they are not flying.
