WTB Pad weight mold for decoys

anyone have a aluminum mold they would be willing to part with for making Pad weights?

A muffin tin is used for a pad weight it might work. A cheap muffin tin will not work for a full poured weight. It will melt! I am keeping an eye open for a cast muffin pan.

I have always used tablespoons as a pad weight mold.

The concave bottom of a soda can makes a nice weight for a smaller decoy.

Hit the yard sale trail. Wife cooks with cast iron pots etc. Google cast iron muffin tins. I've got a neet one I picked up years ago...

Spoons are a great alternative for making pad weights. I've used a big old metal camp spoon for this very purpose. You'll want to put some candle black on the inside of the spoon and then heat it up on a camp stove before you pour the molten lead into it. Be sure to do this outdoors on a dry day as the fumes can be very bad. I usually spray or dip the weights in plasti dip to prevent marring or rubbing on other decoys.
