It has been a while since i started this project , but needed to get it out of the shop and get it wet , i have only been able to hunt it once so far but plans are to use this more this year in some of the small water spots as well as some layout hunts on the salt , it has been a fun project with a few details i changed , i added cuttouts to allow water to drain down to the center of the hull so it is easier to sponge out , i also added the keelsons and filleted them in to give a smooth transiton to the hull , the boat tracks pretty well now with them but without them it must be tough to keep tracking straight . i also added a spray rail that will allow water to come on the deck but not splash over the cockpit coaming . Next step is camo . i will be grassing it up this week for the next section of our season i think i will incorporate the shock cord idea i have seen here to hole the grass in place open water layout hunting will be different and i will need to come up with a camo scheme for that .

Morton, that thing is sweet! Did Andrew try to step on the side of it yet to see if it will tip over? I am amazed at the detailing you put into the epoxy work.
I pole mine without the runners and it goes in the line I push it. But I want to be able to turn in the mud. I am sure for more open water the runners help a lot in the tracking.

Open water camo = visqueen!

Have you towed it yet?

Thanks Bob ,

But when you see it up close there are alot of areas i just could have done better but it is a duckboat not a mueseum piece , I have tried to tow it yet have not figured out how to get both boats to the drink at the same time without 2 trailers , Andrew was on me to finish it so i did now he is travelling like crazy for work i hope he tries it soon it is only getting colder , he whines alot if he gets wet when it is cold out !! HAHAHA !!How was the steak fry the other night ?I wanted to get there but we ahve a big weekend this weekend so there was no time . Thanks for the comments you will be able to try it this year if you come by . Birds are moving here in RI !!!

Thanks Steve , it is a duckboat for sure the plan calls for it to weigh about 100 pounds but i tried hard not to let it get to heavy with addons and all i think i am about 100 lbs . we will see how it works out this year , i may cut the back off and make a fatboy out of it next year .
