YouTube threw a bunch of MJK songs at me this morning. A Perfect Circle and Primus are coming to town on 04 May. Sometimes I wish I weren't such a cheap bastard, but I'm not willing to pay $200/ticket for nose bleed seats that should be $60. Stub Hub and their "Service fees" can go service themselves...
Well, I completely forgot this song existed until somehow last night I came across it. Released in 1995 it really captures how stripped-down rock music became post hair band era and just how ordinary the musicians looked. A real reversal of the industry just 5 years earlier. I still find music produced during this period enjoyable.
While I am not a big podcast guy, I do like this...history told from the perspective of some who lived through it (or sometimes retold from their descendants).
Allison Krauss and Union Station. Live. I'd almost forgotten how much I loved this group. Great evening. Be sure to catch them if they are anywhere nearby. Or within a few hundred miles. Well worth it.
Although it was slightly before my time, I have been listening to a lot of Big Band music from the WW2 era. There was some great music back then and the big band sound, is incredible. A great era before there was R&R.
