Matthias,Awesome! Congats, she's a beauty.
Interested to see what you'll do for seating.
Does the boat come with an electrical panel with USB ports/cigarette lighter socket etc. for device charging?
If you already need a new battery it might be worth considering mounting it in one of those battery boxes that have charging outlets, voltmeter, circuit breaker, etc built in. The boxes add bulk, but with today’s lithium batteries you can choose a much smaller and lighter battery. Not sure about USB ports, I will have to investigate.
Same here, I don’t really care about the fish finding aspect, but depth and navigation is important to me. I will definitely run the Garmin Navionics app on my iPad but not sure yet how to hook that up to a transducer. Maybe also buy the small Garmin Striker Plus 4 for depth duties and as a backup to the iPad.The one thing I need to add is a depth finder/GPS chart plotter as William Reinicke has as suggested for navigation at night. Hoping to shoot the transducer thru the hull near the bilge pump. RM

This one is cheap and nasty, probably why it came free with the 100ah lithium battery that I got for the boat. There are much better quality and designed battery boxes available. I have a better one at home which contains a deep cycle AGM that I use for 4x4 camping, but as soon as the AGM dies it will be replaced with lithium.Matthias,
Great suggestions. The boat came with a two year old wet cell which froze from lack of charge. Lithium batteries scare me a little so I will probably replace it with an AGM which I have always had great luck with.
Admittedly, electronics are my weak spot so I will aim to keep it simple. I will definitely look into that battery box you are talking about; it sounds really cool. Thanks, RM
I was almost ready to jump on the lithium battery bandwagon but after doing some checking I found out that Yamaha does not recommend lithium for their outboards. In four stroke they recommend either AGM or flooded wet cell. Their two stroke outboards are limited to flooded wet cell. Apparently their charging systems are not compatible. This one is cheap and nasty, probably why it came free with the 100ah lithium battery that I got for the boat. Reputable brand, made in the USA, lithium batteries should be safe and not turn your estuary craft into estuary ashes. After feeling the weight difference between the AGM and lithium, not to mention the charging schedule, I’m definitely a lithium convert!
RM,Just returned from Michigan with an Estuary Boats, Dave Clark Garvey. It was built in 2024 but had only one hour of use as the owner had to sell, citing personal reasons. Originally I had intended on building a Cackler but when I saw this ad posted on Facebook I could not think of one good reason to go forward with the build. This boat is entirely composite with the exception of the grass rails. While talking with the seller, I learned that this Garvey was Dave's last before selling the molds. Everything is in "As New" condition with the exception of the outboard starter battery which apparently froze from lack of charge.

Robert,RM,
Congratulations on the boat!!
I commissioned Dave to build the deck mold for the Garvey 15 in 2019. He delivered the boat in mid-2020, and I’m still thrilled with it.
My boat does have plywood/dynel/epoxy floorboards in the cockpit, but he switched to all-composite soon after.

I hope you enjoy her for many years!

Of course it has to be the worst real estate market since 1995 as far as sales are concerned.
