Save this beautiful George Heinrichs speed box sneak box up a few days ago it even has the dog box option not too many were built with that if I would guess it is built in the 70s she doesn’t need too much work except or locks, trim, combing pieces and some fiberglass patches. This is # 27 of sneakboxs I’ve owned or still own. Im not sure if i will redo it or sell it to the right person.

Nice boat, Bob! Very cool.

I always wondered if those were dog boxes or if they were an access hatch for gas tank motor lines, etc.?

You would think if you hunt a a traditional sneak box fashion, shooting over the stern, you would be shooting over the dog's head. Plus, it makes running the tiller a bit more complicated with the dog in the way.

I've seen a few where they have the dog box up underneath the spray curtain , which I think would be better setup overall, what's your take on this?

I think your on the money with it being a gas tank hatch. I agree the dog hatch towards the bow under the breakwater is a better design. Tho aesthetically the dog box on the transom has better eye appeal
