I started working on the Widgeon build several years ago. I started working on the bow by laying out the lines for the bow piece on a piece of plywood. I then transfered the lines for the bow on to 2 pieces of 2" white oak. Once pieces were roughed out I glued them together using resourcinol glue. The plywood planking and paint will hide the purple glue line you get with resourcinol glue. I placed two battens on the layout lines on the plywood and used pipe clamps to draw the parts tight. I also used a parallel clamp to hold the parts level to the plywood. You could certainly build the parts square to ease glue up and cut later. I placed wax paper under the clamp is to prevent gluing the clamps to the part. Once the glue dried I rough cut the curve and the profile for the planking.
