Do all the Higbees have a small cockpit area. One of the reasons i like the Huff is the bigger cockpit opening. I just like the lines of the Huff with that size cockpit.. I am definitely open to suggestions.

I liked the lines of this boat. I could use it in the sheltered bays with the blind down for buffies and brant as well as sea ducks and put the blind up and grass it in for the marshes and ponds. That was my thoughts any ways.

Jim, That is exactly were they end!!! But yes i do lower and lock the motor when transporting all the time. When i get home i am going to take a closer look and see if this could be the issue. If thats the case i think what Tod said will have to be done and reinforce that whole section.

MLBob, The crack is over the inside glass material over the stern flotation about 8 to 9" up off the floor of the inside of the boat in the rear were the gas tank fits in by the drain plug.
