Having a boat loaded down with more gear than normal, hull covered in ice with gallons of water inside hull, wind driving heavy waves and blinding snow and you then realize you don't have enough horsepower is not a good time to decide to get something bigger for next time out..there might not be...

Great points Dave. Regarding the plug reading and different heat ranges of spark plugs. I was referring to the stock recommended plug that the manufacture says to run for that specific application, but your info is right on the money.

I'm not sure what Yamaha calls for but one thing for sure is if it's smoking running rough at idle and fouling plugs and the gas is fresh, then it's too rich. I read here where people say they would rather have too much oil then not enough..learn what ratio your motor likes best and mix it to...

Keep in mind Pat, this is Canada I live in. Trying to find 2 part foam might be like finding the elusive needle in the haystack. In the US, you guys can likely purchase stuff like that from your local hardware store. I wonder if rather then closing off/filling the bow and stern completely...

I agree that I need flotation in it, as I would feel so much better. There isn't much room to add foam in that hull, as I wanted to install a battery box in the bow, and also to leave a place for dry storage, but I suppose if it sinks there won't be much dry areas anyhow..Terry had his parked in...
