What do the mallards eat in your part of the world?

Dave, I hunt the Potomac in MD from time to time. What part did you hunt? On the lower Patuxent River in MD, there'e plenty of wild rice for them.

    Stainless Prop

I've heard that theory. I disagree and say that's what shear pins and the newer hubs designed to "slip" are for. i guess if i'm going to be going through stainless props just like aluminum ones, might as well go with the less expensive ones.

    Stainless Prop

Scouting out a possible new hunting spot sunday, I bent a "stainless-steel" honda prop on my 20hp equipped with a prop guard. I was in a rocky stream, but not giving it much throttle. i was under the impression that stainless steel props could take some punishment. Does this sound like a true...

    Did you name your duckboat?

John, Andrew Holley held a contest to name his boat. The winner got a duck hunt. He built a tender that was barely legal. I think he decided on Legal Tender. Tell us more about your boat. My suggestion is "Fowl Mood"

I know many of you wont' or can't use those spinning wing decoys, but for those of you who do, have you found anything better than those tiny thumb screws for the wings. Seems like there should be some sort of quick connect fitting there.

Picking out a handheld Gps unit

Brian, I used the Megellan Sportrak Topo Color for several years. It's been very reliable as long as you keep 2 good batteries in it. got me through the fog one morning by following the previous track through the channel markers. it fits in your pocket. the color screen in small, but...

    Boat entry ladder????

Jim, not sure what size boat you have, but here's what i came up with. it's rarely used because i hunt in the shallows most of the time (and it's a monster), but does come in handy when i have to go after a cripple or the dog ignores the whistle and goes to retrieve a bird that never fell...
