I tried the pellets & didn't like 'em. Did not seem reliable. I use pyrodex and it always goes boom. 90 gr. of pyrodex behind a 295 gr powerbelt is plenty out to 125yds.

Safety off as I raise, not before. I have hunted with others who feel need to take safety off at first sound of birds. Also have hunted with guys who take safety off on upland birds while approaching a point. I don't hunt with either anymore. Safety comes first.

Maybe you can negotiate a credit from sell to cover some of the expense of covering the area. I think covering with 4-6" is the only solution.
