Great work by all again this month. Here's what I'm working on. Tried to paint it in one sitting, it didn't work. So I painted the body in one sitting, and then the head. A decoy with a keel I think I could paint it in one sitting. Now to find something to hang it from.

I see 2 wood screws in the bottom on the sides possibly used to hold 2 halves together when gluing up the body Is this unique to a certain carver? Also looks like a lot of rasping. May help identify the carver.

I'm with Vince Ontario decoy. The only carver on this side of the puddle that I know of would be Julius Mittelstaedt

Have the dog heal and stay, walk out 50-100 yards and then throw the bumper(s), then give the retriever command. That's my technique.

George They floated nice. The keels are made of cumaru wood Very heavy and dense wood, if they were oak it would take 2.5-3 to equal the same weight. The bill on the RBM is also cumaru it's so hard a rolled the edge on a brand new knotts knife, then I tried the rotary bits the teeth were...

Eric It's apparent the officer doesn't understand duck hunters and duck hunting. He was definitely out of line from keeping you from working on your blind and being ready for the season. Road closed?? That's why we have 4wd trucks, boats and canoes. Whatever it takes to get to the blind!!!
