    Texas type decoy rigs

I crimp about 5' of 400lb mono directly to the keel and I crimp a loop on the other end. I use 4-6 oz. egg sinkers and keep up to 2dz decoys on a clip. When deploying I slide the egg sinker to the end and toss the decoy. When picking up I slide the egg sinker towards the decoy and clip the...

Got a berry bear for the freezer.

Now that's my kind of "suburban" hunt!! I've always heard that the fall bear taste much better than spring. What does their meat compare to? -D

    Tuna fishing

Very cool Jim. What kind of dredge housing are you using? I designed and make the dredgecam.com housings. Here's a pair of bluefins in the shallows a few weeks back out of OC MD. Here's a white one ready for release! Hope your fishing season treats you...

July -- What's new on your workbench?

I can say one thing....painting fish is a WHOLE NEW WORLD! This is the third try at this one and I finally followed my own advice and put down the paint brush before I made a mess. Gonna put a few finishing touches on this one and it will be part of the auction at the Barta Billfish...

    TDB blind thoughts needed

I have a Goliath and agree with the above comments. The track system is great when you want to leave the blind on and allow it to act as a spray curtain. I lost one side of my blind a while back and haven't replaced it yet, but did think about the webbing and buckle idea on my replacement...

    March 2014 Workbench Thread

Here's today's progress. I am messing with an onion bag and some goldens to get the scale pattern I wanted. This is the first test and it's still wet. Once it dried it looked pretty good and with some light sanding I think it will knock the texture down to what I'm looking for. Going...

    March 2014 Workbench Thread

Got started on a basswood laughing gull yesterday and forgot to take some pics, broke my drawknife, threw said gull across the room in anger. Today I started over and chopped the head off the gull to use on a cork gunning gull....again no pics. Changed directions and ended up with this...

    More scenery pics.

Great pics Mike. The mac skydiving pic is great. If you blur your eyes you it looks kinda real! I spoke to Andy the other day and he said it was -59 windchill. THATS COLD! We were up to 63F today and it's gonna stay in the 50's during the day for the next 4 days. The perch run...

Get a duck commander video....I've heard that there was a standing order that only good kill shots make the final show. -D

    Thanks for the new birds

The late youth day is one of the best things MD DNR has done in years. It's a great way to get the yute's out when bird numbers should be PEAK! Good luck Dave. -D
