    Question re old-timey oar locks

Dave, I'm thinking of utilizing a setup like yours. Would you be willing to explain how it is affixed, whether you reinforced it beneath the deck, and, if so, by what means. Thanks. Not meant to hijack the post, but it seemed relevant, especially in light of some of the info posters...

I stand corrected. Went by another spot today and saw a small flock of brant. Yes!

Looks like the Brant have arrived

Did they skip over Rhode Island this year? I took a spin by one of my spots this afternoon, and didn't see a single brant.

grassed jersey marsh grass finished new pics

Chris, Looks good to me (though I'm no authority). I'm wondering if you left it attached to the boat during a ride home on a boat trailer, and, If so, how it held up?

Hevi Shot or Remington Hyper Sonic Pros and Cons?

Kristan, Last season I tried a box of the Remington Hypersonic in #4, 3-inch shells for a 12 guage. My shoulder hates me for it. I do not like shooting those things. Still have about a half box left. Once it's gone, I don't wish to try any hypersonic shells again. Of course, that leaves the...

final preparations are done, I think, almost, I hope I'm ready :>)

Dave, You might want to run a grassing seminar. That is awesome. Great idea going with mixed grasses, it has never occurred to me to do that. I also like how you put grass into the boat handles. I've installed vertical grass rails on my boat, so your methods would adapt well to...

    Layout Seat

Wondering if Ira's seats have any lumbar support, and how much cushion there is on the bottom pad (my tailbone and butt get mighty achy after a day of sitting on the hard boat bottom).

    another quection for sneakbox owners

Last season I tried staking the rear of the boat using an old ski pole (with the basket removed from its end) threaded through one of the handles on the back of the boat. In deep water, however, it had a tendancy to work free.

    Sneakbox Comfort Tips?

I hope in the future to hunt out of my boat sneakbox style (with a dodger). I imagine the more comfortably this can be done the better. Thanks in advance to any of you folks willing to share some tips for ways you've found to do this style hunting comfortably? In the literature I've...

    question about a plywood BBSB

Ray, I agree that it is confusing, but in Zack's book "Customizing Small Boats" there are plans labeled "THE ZACKBOX". In the lower righthand corner of one of the pages of the plans that appear to be for that Zackbox it looks like it states: -DUCK HUNTING BOAT.- -Des. by Zack Taylor & E...

    question about a plywood BBSB

I never realized there were full-size plans available for that boat. Do you happen to know where they can be obtained. In any case, maybe it would be interesting to try constructing a scale model of it out of carboard or balsa wood, and seeing if that helps. I constructed a couple of cardboard...

    question about a plywood BBSB

You know, I don't think I've yet seen a Zackbox build out of plywood made along the lines of the plans in Zack's book. Has anybody else? In any case, it sure doesn't seem like there are many out there. If that is so, does anybody have any idea why? By the way, if anybody on here has...

anyone build a McCormick's hybird pondbox

Chris, Looks like Ray gave you the link. I got a great deal out of reading it, and MissedAgain (screen name for Rich McCormick) was real generous and helpful with his advice. I don't think Rich has built one yet using epoxy resin. I think he uses polyester resin. I also think that Mr. Payson...

Traditional Spray Dodger Plus or Minus

Thanks for the further input, folks. That's great news, Gene R, that you're able to trailer yours with the dodger up; must say it comes as a surprise.
