    Old patina

I have used Briwax dark over acrylic with good results. Beware though, it can remove the paint on a fresh paint job! This can be used to get an antiqued effect but you can overkill pretty quick too.

    Good cheaper over under?

Paul, On a whim last spring I purchased a CZ Mallard from Bud's Gun Shop online (because my local retailer couldn't find one) and couldn't be happier with it. My initial desire for it was based on the fact that it has double triggers , a plus for me, but the fit and finish is well beyond what I...

    Double Barrels for Ducks

Eric, on a whim this year I picked up a CZ Mallard. The Mallard is their least expensive O/U, but it has double triggers, and I couldn't pass it up. I was pleased with it right out of the box, and the more time I spend with it, the more I like it. The triggers felt a little rough at first but...

    A skin on frame BBSB

I did a Yostwerks kayak skin on frame a couple years ago, and was surprised by the rigidity once it was all together. The nylon and coating is a lot stronger than I thought it would be as well. I am SLOWLY putting together a Widgeon now, so it's interesting so see your combination. Do you know...

Alrighty gentlemen and any ladies that might be lurking

Dani, I noticed that the regulations state "only an approved muzzleloader". I would check into that a little further before developing loads and bullet selections. I know that some areas require flintlocks for primitive weapons, others smoothbore with no rifling, etc.

    Sneakbox Renovation

Steve, Just so I am clear, the self tappers are temporary, until the 5200 bonds? And then you are removing them? Will you be replacing them with another fastener, or relying on the 5200 for the connection? Any reason for the 5200 instead of thickened epoxy? I am not judging, just inquiring for...

    Flexshaft/Foredom

Phil, My HF one has lasted about 10 years now, with no real issues. I have had to replace a couple shafts ( order more now) and the brushes for the motor once. (Order them now). The handpiece it comes with is okay, but if you can find a foredom one it's sure nice to have.

    Bulged Barrel

Jeff, I used to work at the KTP in gun sales, and you just couldn't win. Some people got upset if you cleaned them, and others wanted to see what it looked like when traded in. If requested, we would clean them for a customer but most times left them alone till then.

    Anyone with heated vest experience?

A lot of the guys here at work have purchased these: https://www.milwaukeetool.com/power-tools/cordless/2331 And are happy with them. They do recommend a spare battery though! I guess they are not warm at all when the power goes out.

Weird Tacoma 4WD Problem Nobody Can Figure Out. Can You?

I'll give it a try Eric. I would check my calipers for a sticking piston. Disc brakes develop a clearance between the pad and rotor because the runout of the rotor forces the piston(s) back into their bore, eliminating drag. No springs like drum brakes. I suspect that either the piston is...

"H-Bar", "T-Bar", or any other Effective Floating Solutions

Just checked. Y-boards are in the carvers corner section. One word of caution, y-boards have a tremendous amount of drag in any tide or current. BIG anchors! Good luck, and give a shout if i can help.
