    Dog Question

I wasn't going to post this, but feel I owe it to my dog and your's as penance. The story below is mine that was relayed to some friends. This happened on Christmas Eve this year. In hindsight, I'm not really sure that absolute temp is primary factor. Feeding habits, wind exposure (mainly...

    All Redheads

carl, not sure what it is this year, but everyone I know is covered in red heads. I have not seen many scaup, maybe thirty. I just got a picture text of something like an 8 man limit of redhead drakes. and I know some guys killed a 3 man limit last night.

    American Water spaniel/chessie?

I keep seeing parallels drawn in the disposition of these two breeds. When I think of a chessie, I just think mean and stubborn. Maybe I'm drawing the wrong conclusions. Could someone post claryifying these comparisons. Also, on how you think a AWS would do around 1 yr old twins that will...

    Advice on airboats?

We ran airboats for years, for what its worth with the new generation surface drives i'll never own an airboat. may not have the same "cool" factor but the ease and cost of ownership and operation, as well as reliability isn't even close to being in the same league. Other random airboat...

    Watrfowling Bucket List

I got lucky and had the means and money before I was married or had kids to do quite a few of the items that are on your lists above. It would be a lot tougher for me to find the income and time now. I really enjoyed the swan hunt Eiders should be on everyone's list Prairie Canada was...

Light Steel Loads for Decoying Ducks?

I actually do the exact opposite, but I think you are likely hunting from a boat. The last few years, from my low blind, I've aimed a ft or two in front of the duck and skipped the entire pattern into its chin.

Light Steel Loads for Decoying Ducks?

When I am hunting my own blind, I use #6 through cylinder chokes almost exclusively, because I get to call the shots. I get very few cripples while striving for 25 yd decoying shots. so much so, that another guy near me has switched to the exact same gun/choke and load, with good results...

    For the Lurkers

Not rail pictures, but a photo collage of what I was up to in Sept/Oct worked a little on the flats boat, and took the retriever for a ride, where she didn't have to cope with 9 month old twins pulling on her ears Caught a lot of these on conventional, and a few on the goofy rod spent a...

AK trip - LOOOONG and NDR....

such a great trip. I'd already been planning something like this for when my kids are the right age, but to see it in pictures just deepens the desire. My buddy's dad just did it pretty reasonably ($$) by renting in anchorage and scaling down your trip significantly. I imagine just pulling...
