    Oscoda Canoe

I,ve found the most comfortable canoe seats are the padded ones that have a flip up back secured by webbing straps. Couple straps go under hull canoe seat to secure it. Easily put on and removed for travel or if you car top boat. Always nice to get the tush some padding and really nice to lean...

    Oscoda Canoe

We've just always painted hulls Parkers Hunter Green which is actually more brown then green. Blends in perfect in our wooded back drop river bottom and blends with marsh mud on bayfront. Cover your thwarts with foam pipe wrap and areas adjacent seat where a paddle may hit gunnel. Wooden paddles...

    $4 a shell? Holy cow!

Ones i,ve shot I thought kicked pretty hard even with target loads compared to say an 870 or BPS. Probably because stock was way to straight for me and the lightness their famous for. They are a smooth operating pump though, no doubt.

    Oscoda Canoe

As a younger man myself and my gunning buddy would float upper ends of my river haunt occasionally. We always took turns up front shooting. Once you got a shot on birds you switched stations. Man in back gently maneuvered canoe using twists and turns in river as approach cover. Narrow river so...

    Brant banding question

Haven,t seen as many dead fowl this winter as last year due to Avian Flue . Of course the Snow Geese aren't in my area as much as last year either. Buzzards feeding on carcasses of snow geese last winter were showing up quite a bit dead.

    End of year clean up

That will definitely wreck a transducer if it doesn't kick up. Even unloading boat in an Icey ramp can frequently break bracket if it isn,t kicked up.

    Sealing burlaped decoys

Always used tinted kilz as a primer then 2 coats exterior paint over that. No issues with water deteriation.

    End of year clean up

Right now i,m in the Boat Blind mod. process while improvements needed are still fairly fresh on my mind. Last spring I bought a Beavertail blind, like new, cheap, for my 2072 . Installed on boat, made some mods to top shoot hole flaps, installed dog door & completely grassed . Looked amazing...

    Duckboss 13

Unfortunately I never took a pic of upright blind. Looked for them last night after commenting. Took a few of Layout configuration with Dodger up and lap curtain deployed though. Basically I installed receivers in 4 corners of cockpit combing> that was Kayak rod holders with a pvc reducer inside...

When I built roll up/down blind for my Black Jack I configured it for an 18" seat height with side walls at 46" from floor to top of wall tube. Grassed so it draped inward birds never new I was there. I configured mine to roll down along gunnels on each side with supports on all four corners...

Getting a boat off a trailer

4 old tires to cushion bottom. If you can find the big off rd. tires they have a wider foot print keeping boat closer to level of bunks. Slide boat off on to tires if possible. If to heavy secure stern to something and gently pull trailer out from under hull to rest on tires. When it comes time...

“On the Ebb” - Black duck hunting film by Field & Stream

Those mosquito ditch stalks have saved many a duck hunt on the marsh when Mr. Blk. Duck doesn't want to respond to the decoys correctly.

    Sanford Gunning Box?

That's a great video. Has another part come out yet? At 8' I might even be able to slip the dog in behind me with a bit of Mods to dodger.

    Estuary Garvey

Sweet hull. Very similar exterior to the Chincoteague Scow 14 & 16,s that used to be the standard duck boat on the bay in my area years ago until Carolina Skiffs took their spot. The scow was a lot better rough water boat though. I,m sure you,ll be pleased with it.

Father & Son Restoration Project Amazing History! (Sit Down For This One..)

What an Immense attention to detail on that grass boat. Love that adjustable dodger and the removable motor board another superb idea.

Now what?! Boat blind storage for off season?

Not real familiar with how the Avery breaks down but can it be stored sitting on its edge against a wall inside an out building ? I,m thinking it flattens out to each side . Of course grassing will limit that. Bunge those sides down and stand on edge if frame will support. Then main issue would...

    Gheenoe repair help.

When your done with your glass work don't go back to blind fasteners for your seat mounts. That is what factory uses but over time they will wear into glass from underside and pull thru against hard weight. My rear seat almost pitched me overboard one cold morning when I lost balance and leaned...

    Gheenoe repair help.

If your just trying to fill holes someone cut mask back side with a sturdy tape. Gorilla tape possibly . First off sand a good distance out around perimeter . Start laying in saturated mating to build up layers extending first couple out onto sanded perimeter. That seat cut out is your flotation...

    Depth Finder and Navigation

Bought the unit new in about 2014. If I recall its a Garman but not 100 percent sure without uncovering boat. I'm assuming antenna is built into the wire bundle I,ve got laying under console as there's no coax connector to attach an external antenna that I've found.
