    Boat Repair- Damp Transom

It will take far longer than a day to dry. Sealing it up will trap the water in the wood until one day it is a problem.

You going to glass the exterior or go back with chinking? The interior looks good as well as the stem.

Cool Herters Model Goose Duck boat.. sneak box dreaming.

If that deck isn't in your mind's eye picture of what you want the boat to be when you finish then remove it. See it first, then make it happen.

@Steve Sanford Your writing here has been prolific, but I managed to find the Red Leg photo essay. It reads just as good today as the day you posted it. https://duckboats.net/community/threads/sneakbox-renovation.280953/ @Jim Mandas The first two pictures in Steve's latest post in this...

Anybody Here Hunt Peace River in British Columbia?

RM As of today there are no lotteries nor reduced days for non-residents hunting waterfowl in this part of BC. I have no idea how long that lasts.

Anybody Here Hunt Peace River in British Columbia?

Say near Dawson Creek or Fort Saint John? I'd love to hear your thoughts on freelancing this part of Canada including the river and surrounding agriculture fields. How easy is it to gain permission to hunt? Is the river itself very productive? Does the area offer public land waterfowling...

    New To Me Benelli 828U

RM I've never held one but got curious and looked up the specs on it. At 6.6 lbs that is a very light weight double. In doubles mass is important to keep recoil down. I suspect you will like it for dove and clays but will not want to use it for duck loads but am curious how it feels to you...

I have used brad nails plenty of times to hold things in place temporarily. For the deck I'd use 3/8". 3/4" will work if it saves you buying more marine ply but it is overkill. You will have to kerf bend it and it adds a bit more weight.

    Broken Bolt Extractors?

I've never had much luck with them, but it doesn't hurt to try. I have better luck with high heat to weaken corrosion's grip, drilling out the bolt, or welding to it to get a better grip and then backing out. Heat from welding helps a lot too. How deep is the break off? Steel bolt in...

Cool Herters Model Goose Duck boat.. sneak box dreaming.

I would use 3/4" marine ply and create bulkheads and then epoxy fillet and glass tape them into place. You will want to use some 1/4" luan to make a template to fit the hull and then use it to trace and cut your marine ply. Basically you are using the same type of interior structure that...

Jim I like the idea of removing both seats and decking the rear. There are some challenges ahead of you should you go this route. I suspect the boats flotation is in the seats so once removed you will need to install new flotation elsewhere. Where it me I'd put it in the nose and both back...

    Whatcha Listening To?

@Steven Alexander You going? I've seen them on social media but don't have any of their music. I mentioned the show to my kids and they didn't recognize them. That surprised me.

Jeff I had something similar happen. I sold a Jeep Cherokee to a man who bought it for his son who attended LSU. A year or so later I got a letter from LSU telling me I had unpaid tickets. I called the university and told them I didn't own the vehicle and hadn't been on the campus in 20...
