Great end to the season. Every year I say I'm going to get out on the bay side and start exploring but never do. Stories of pintail and widgeon may be enough to motivate me next year. I still haven't had a shot at either in the coastal zone.

I have wondered the same thing. We have had it happen with puddle ducks also. Mainly black ducks in the salt marsh. I have dropped black ducks into small salt ponds to have them dive and never reappearSome times the edges are undercut. We figure they swim under and die.

Christmas present for my brother. Brant in red cedar shakes. Framed in 5/4 mahogany I saved from a recent deck renovation. I built myself a new decoy/tackle/kayak/boat stuff shed recently and put a striper in the gable. I'm going to carve a bait fish to put in front of it.

I have one brant that was banded 7 years from Nanavut Longest banded goose I have was 6 years from NJ Shortest banded goose just over 5 months from NJ I shot a black duck that the band had to be sent in and etched. I can't find the email but I think it was 11 years and from Quebec.
