Here is another pond box from my collection of South Jersey gunning boats. This is a 1950 Cape May County Ditch/ Pond box. It is 7ft 6” long & 35 inches wide. It is made out of 1/2 inch cedar sides and transom and 1/8 cedar bottom planks and 1/4 deck planks. What makes it a Cape may county box is the sides of the box instead of staying straight up the top side angles in to hold grass rails. As well as oar locks towards the bow since jersey gunners in pond box’s and sneakbox’s row facing towards the bow. Hope you enjoy the pictures last picture is of Harry Shourds 3rd rowing his cape may county pond box’s

Bob- you have a great collection and I always enjoy seeing photo's of your various craft.
Thank you all said in done in my collection I have 10 historically significant Jersey Gunning boats but through the year have owned 28 sneakboxs/ jerseys gunning boats that I restored and sold or gave away to someone that wanted to start gunning. I have all the boats I owned documented and photographed.

It would be great if you shared and started a historical image archive.

You can go to the Media section and create your own album. That's a good way to store things but I've not seen people peruse there often. Another way is I could add an entry in the Resources section. Maybe a section in the duckboat database with pictures and any write-ups you want to do would be a good way to do it.
