I've always thought yours a good design, but you mentioned in an early thread (I think when I was exploring my build initially) that if you were doing it again you'd consider flapboards instead. What downsides, if any, to your existing blind setup? A modified version is among the options I'm considering. What would you do differently? How high above the deck is the top of your blind... and to your earlier point (and my biggest concern), how is your visibility over/around the dodger?
In the end, I suspect I'm going to choose, as my initial blind set-up, the one most easily removable/replaceable as I'm quite confident however I "think" I'll use the boat most efficiently will change once its actually in use.
From today's "theoretical" standpoint, I'd ideally hunt the dog off the front deck, just in front of the cockpit... or, when there are 2 of us, off the deck beside the cockpit. I'd like to keep dog(s) out of the cockpit during hunts. Water entry/exit on the starboard side of the stern when hunting alone layout -style... and maybe all the time - so ideally my blind sides will rise from near the coaming and keep the gun gunwales clean (other than maybe some flat grass or other camo) for dog traffic. I wasn't certain that would work, but now that I have decking on I'm pretty sure they're wide enough for that to work.
