A few birds and a bit of history

I got out for an evening shoot yesterday with a friend. Although it was a bluebird day we met with some success, taking six ducks. These were the first four birds.

This is the Long Point Company.

Thanks Paul. It's only a ~5hr drive for me and I haven't made that trip yet. I really need to get that done.

Thanks for posting.

The Long Point Company is still going strong. There was a steady stream of members arriving yesterday. The club is locally referred to as Millionaires. That is probably the reason I don't get invited to hunt there. LOL I just get to take pictures from out in the bay.

I shouldn't be encouraging you to come but what the heck. If you are making the trip let me know.

The fellow I was hunting with had never hunted the bay. We went for a full tour before we settled down to hunt. It was a beautiful day for a cruise.

Paul,

Thank you for posting. Having hunted Mitchell's Bay and Walpole for years, it was very entertaining reading. Now, being a member of a Great Lakes club established around the same time (1871) and having read it's history, it is fascinating comparing the two. Again, thanks for taking the time to share.

Congratulations, Paul. Nice pics. Glad you were able to get out. That day looks like every day down here.

There are plenty of ducks in Ontario !

Maybe we should do a duckboats.net hunt at LP ?

Al, is that what you refer to as "severe clear"? :)
That is Exactly Correct, Paul. Very seldom do we get a cloudy day. What seems so funny is that when we do I normally don't do well.

A few years ago I had the pleasure of meeting many of the MLB crew at Long Point when they had their annual get together there. They rounded out the week with a fund raising evening and decoy auction.

Something like that is always welcome. Just let me know when you want to do it.

I remember when MLB did that hunt at LP. They always have a good turnout and LP is the perfect place for some nice BBSB's and Estaury's and Garvey's. A fund raiser would be a good reason.
