A grand adventure, quite long and very heavy on pictures

The Willow Ptarmigan photo's are my favorite. Those are some great lookin' birds. They make me wanna grab a "Shoot Gun", and take a long trip north.

Wow, Very cool, great pictures.

That trap is Huge. I have seen the ones they use for black bear and the one in your pic makes those look like a Havahart.

Great post Dani. Nice pics and story. I'll second Tod's "spruce and polar bear" combo. Cool picture contrast.

Amazing story, Dani. You are quite the writer! Thanks for taking the time to put this together for us "regular" guys. That's definitely a bucket-list trip!

Dani,

Thanks for the post! Great pics and Story...I have a tentative trip planned for Hudson Bay August, 2026. My boys will be 20 and 18 and I have started putting together a 5 month hunting trip for me and the Boys. I want it to start in Hudson Bay and end in the Gulf of Mexico...If they love the outdoors like I do. Fingers crossed, but they are pretty excited to go hunting this Sunday.

OMG! You are my hero! What a trip to make. Great pictures Lady, thanks so much for taking the time to post all that.

Its just hard to wrap my head around the idea of 1600's people from Europe coming to places like that in sailboats looking for fur. Kinda like oil exploration companies nowadays I guess, but with out any helicopters, satellite communications, or Smartwool socks. What a place to live.

Very cool.

Mike

Dani,

Thanks for taking the time to share what looks like a great adventure. Those bear sure look nice and cuddly, don't they?

Ryan

Glad y'all enjoyed the post

Mike it is mind boggling and quite impressive to me the folk who were exploring and hunting and making a living off the land all without our modern day conveniences. Pretty neat to read about, and ponder what life must've been like for them....
