I think I've found one worth reading. Fine Woodworking is the only active subscription I have. But when you get down to it, like so many others, it has become a "how-to" pub and largely lacks any exploration of the soul. All the others are gone, including Wildfowl which became a bad reiteration of itself, issue after issue. After several trips to the barber shop spanning several months I've found a magazine that repeatedly fills the compositional void for an outdoorsmen who dabbles in wood, game, fish, and Southern culture. As the boys get their hair cut I scan the magazine and soon find casual flipping changes to pleasure reading. A delight that seldom happens. If you think you might be interested in a magazine that covers a vast array of Southern outdoor experiences then pick up an issue of http://gardenandgun.com/ . I think you will see there are some well written articles that tell life experiences which go far beyond the "go here, have the latest whatever, and do it this way" articles we are bombarded with. Technical reading it is not. Charming it is.
