And then it happened—

Always a pleasure to read Al. I remember those same feelings just last year. Hats off to Chip and to a day neither of you will forget!

Very nice Al...I'm still clinging to the hopes of finding a duck or two for my pup Maxx to get his first retrieves this season. We have a couple days left, but that's about it. I've failed him miserably with my shooting in the few previous hunts he was able to go with me on. I'm hoping to find some ducks for him this weekend. Congrats to you and Chip!

I truly had forgotten how much I enjoy your pictures and stories. I will make it out that way some day! Beautiful country!
Brad

Hey, Brad. I appreciated what you had to say. I, for one, hope that you can come out this way. It is indeed the Land of Enchantment!

It is always a pleasure to read your posts and in this one I could feel your pride and gratitude. The pictures are a BONUS. Thanks for sharing.

Your comments were much appreciated, Cheech. I'm glad those pictures turned out.

Al,

All that hard work with the dogs pays off when you watch their first successful retrieve. Congrats to you and Chip. I love the photo of the dogs on the Mule.

Thanks so much for those kind words you had to say, John. I liked that shot also. I guess there is something about a wet dog---maybe? They had a good morning for sure.

Outstanding Al. Congrats to Chip and thanks for another fun story. As I look outside all I see is white with minus 8 on the thermometer. Your pictures and stories take the chill off. Keep 'em coming.

Hey Jim---I never thought of my pictures and stories being able to take the chill off. Boy, if it helps I'll try and get another one going! Sure glad you like them. Keep warm!
Al

Your pup sure has that proud look in his eys, thanks for the story.
Merry Christmas from Dixie

I'm glad you spotted that, Dave. Thanks for pointing that out to me. I hope you and your family had a wonderful Christmas.
Al

Very Nice!

He is doing great!

Thanks, Doug. Each day we work together. Yesterday it was Chip trying to squirm around and get his share of the couch when I was watching TV.

Al, Looks like another beautiful day. Your stories are always told so well. Thanks for sharing, Jeff

Jeff, your comments helped make my day. I appreciated you taking the time to write them. Glad you enjoyed.

He's a workin' dog now.
Congratulations! I hope to have that same feeling sometime next season. Great photos as always.

Tim

Tim, do you know the best thing about Chip---he loves the job he's now doing! I will be the one who can hardly wait for next year's season to begin. Glad you liked the pictures.
Al

I almost forgot to show you these two shots of the surprise visitor that was just finishing his Christmas dinner in my pigeon loft yesterday. I opened the door so he could get going.

Very Cool, Chip is turning out to be a fantastic dog. Thanks for letting us watch him grow up.
BUT, I still think he is too young to drive the UTV, just sayin.........

Thanks, Carl. I'm glad I took the time to take a lot of pictures of him growing up. It was fun for me to do. Just like that 6 year old kid that grew up on the farm driving the tractor, I had to teach him how to do it, Carl.

Nice story Al. I'm always amazed at the diverse locations hunted by the members of this forum. The pictures posted here speak a thousand words...

I sure appreciated what you had to say, Mike. Thanks so much.

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to you and Bev

Its looks like the little one is growing and enjoying getting out and chasing birds. Remember Bella II in now 104 pounds.

Hey, Dennis. Merry Christmas to you and your family. I hope all are doing well. Yes, I have not forgotten that Bella is that svelte beauty! I remember the day you came to the house to show her to me. I guess one of these days I should weigh him. He doesn't feel too heavy when I lift him up, however. Just yesterday I noticed that we will have to be buying him a new collar.

I second you had a perfect Christmas. That sequence of photos is priceless. I feel as if I'm the fly on the wall of your blind every hunt with your descriptions reinforced by the photos. Merry Christmas to you and yours and you have made mine brighter by tales of the hunt fresh from the field

Thanks so much, Bill. Merry Christmas to you and all your family. I am hoping that day was very special. I'm glad that the stories are such that you enjoy them. That made my day!
