Another dog for the truck

Hi,

I came across the following classified ad last night. The bride is on a long girls weekend and I had not even got half way through it and she said we need to help this soldier out.

"
WANTED: Dog Care Uniontown
Local National Guard Soldier who is slated to deploy later this fall for 1 year is looking for a foster home for his Chocolate Lab. Lucy is 2 years old and is your typical hyper, high-strung lab. She needs room in the country to roam. She is smart, semi-trained, and a bird hunting fool! She would love for someone to take her bird hunting!"

Lucy is coming over on the 28th to make sure she is compatible with Aspen. Sutton its looking like there will be another dog in the truck next fall. I hope Mike will be able to deal with all the females.

My best,

Don

Don that is a good thing that you are doing and I hope the Lord gives you his Blessing, it sure must be hard on the guy having to leave is dog for 1 year.
Im glad it is,nt me, It would crack me up.
take care and God Bless
Eddie.
Its all about Building that Bond.

Don,

What a nice thing you are doing. I hope the two dogs get along when they meet. "Lucy" will be well cared for and couldn't have be granted a better place to "vacation" for a year. I'll bet both you and your dog will end up with long time friends over this arrangement. My best wishes for the coming months.

Hope the dog and Aspen get along.

There is also going to be an additional dog in the WA kennel this fall. I just dropped a deposit today on a chocolate male that will be ready to come home to Wenatchee in October. He is a pointing lab so I'll be looking for some help from you on the upland training.

Gregg,

Hey, good on you. From where are you getting the pup? Tiger Mt? Don't let Sutton give you a hard time about the color. It is a scientfically proven that the brown dogs are the best hunting dogs. The only downside I have found with the brown dogs is when it is raining in the sage they do tend to be hard to see. I have not hunted over the pointing labs but have considered getting one for the boy.

I really know nothing about training dogs. The only thing I do know is it really helps a dog to perform well if you take them hunting many times and often. I strongly beleive that Aspen's worth as a an upland dog is directly proportional to the amount of time we have spent in the field.

I am looking forward to meeting the pup. Let's plan on introducing the pup to birds on the quail opener.

My best,

Don

Don, thats a great thing your doing, returning a little care to our servicemen and women. Least we can do for what they do for us!
