Anybody got a Pintail Sprig Feather?

I shot my first pintail drake recently and unfortunately he had no sprig feathers. Does this mean he is a young bird? I would love to have him mounted as he is in excellent shape and Pintails are very rare where I hunt (this is the first one I have even seen!).

If anyone happens to shoot a Pintail drake this season which has nice sprig feathers I would love to have them, if you aren't keeping them... My taxidermist has told me he can add them to the mount quite easily. I would be happy to pay for postage or work something out for your trouble... Maybe you could send them to me in an envelope in between two sheets of cardboard?

If anyone can help, I would sincerely appreciate it from one duck hunter to another!

You can use an oldsquaw (long tail duck) feather.

I have one from a bird last year, which I don't need. Most diver hunters who shoot oldsquaw usually save these tails for taxidermist who need a pintail feather.

If you want it you can have it. send me a PM if you need it.

Do you still need a feather? I shot a nice pintail just before I went on my swan hunt. If you still need one, then let me know.
