Argentina

Try the Detail Company. I booked a dove shoot with them and was very satisfied with the shoot. They book with a few outfitters. I went to Los Chanares. They have three lodges. They also do combo hunts.

I have gone one time on a combo hunt for doves, perdiz, pigeon and ducks. Let me state I'm not a traveler, so the trip itself was not something I would do again. Accommodations, food and rink were first class. Perdiz were like pen raised pheasants, doves were popping a lot of caps, ducks were not overly challenging and pigeons were awesome. To have done it once for the experience was fine but was an expensive trip.
Personally, I rather hunt my marsh or layout the bay. I don't get much vacation time so not a trip I plan on doing again. Just my 2 cents.

Argentina for the wing shooter is like Africa for the big game hunter!

I have been blessed to head to the southern hemisphere 3 times. Twice for ducks and once for doves. Our group is planning two trips for 2013; one for doves and one for ducks.

For each trip, I have used Frontiers and ask for Elaine Wissolik.

Be careful and research. The last few years has been very tough for ducks, because of tremendous drought in Argentina; especially the Buenos Aires province. When I first went in 2007, I hunted in Lincoln, AR which is about 3 1/2 hours northwest of Buenos Aires. The hunting was spectacular and I was able to take 12 different species on that trip and numbers that beat anything I did in 30 days hunting at home!! Last year because of the drought, we hunted in the Benito Juarez region. It typically holds water inspite of drought years, BUT the number of places to hunt is limited. The variety of species is also limited as well. Mind you, the shooting is still many times better than what you can get at home. It is a matter of perspective.

This past year, Argentina received LOTS of rain and the potholes in the Buenos Aires province are now full once again. For 2013 we are heading back to the BA region.

Shoot me a PM, and I can give you more info. If it is something you are thinking about, DO IT. You won't regret it..... There are quite a few details to the trip and it helps to talk to someone who has been there before.

Best,
Steve

I have been to Giovani's place in Argentina twice, and no better a time could be had. The bird, duck, dove, pigeon, and rabbit hunting is great, the food and wine are exceptional, and the price can not be beat. The next time I go, I hope it will be with George. Hitch

i don't know if this is true. but if your are going for trophy mounts i think the US band all importing of birds. i would look into it.

gotta have the proper paperwork, which amounts to having a taxidermist with an import license. They will check if the stuff is NOT delivered within a week, or..customs will send them along, and you pay the freight--Was ok last spring is all i know--
Have not personally brought back specimens, but i have a mess of on site shots of parts, full shots, brids in decoys, etc, and the memories are vivid!
Meat is ok, without feathers.
