I am going to start an online auction to benefit Duckboats.Net Here is how it will work.
You will be bidding on one of my metal reed duck calls: see the picture. The auction will run until Sat May 3rd @ 6pm central time and the winner will send the payment directly to Eric, by using the Donate button at the top, send a check, whatever. When Eric informs me that he has received the winning bid I will ship the call directly to you. I will cover the shipping costs! Please raise the bidding in $5 increments. The winner will be determined by the time stamp on the post! Last bid before 6pm central will win!

The call is made from African Blackwood with a Cocobolo Insert. The stand comes with the call!

This needs to run a long way. For those who don't know, Fred makes one of the finest metal reed calls around, and he has made tremendous contributions to keeping the art alive. If you haven't used a metal reed call, you should give it a try. Spectacular on big water as they tend to have more sound and volume, I think they're useful anywhere and are another way to differentiate yourself from other callers in your area. I love my Fred Roe call, and while I'd love another (and this is a beauty), I hope someone will be making a large contribution to duckboats.net and getting their first.

Seriously??? With barely more than a day left the call is at $100? I sincerely hope there are some bidders out there waiting for the last minute to swoop in. I do want to thank everyone who has participated thus far. But I have to add this call is criminally underpriced at the present time and I'll be a little embarrassed for this community and Fred's generosity if the price doesn't get to where it should be. Do your research and you'll see the maker is widely respected for his contributions to the call making community and is credited for taking the lost art of how to make a Reelfoot call and putting that knowledge in anyone's hands who wants it. If it wasn't a conflict of interest I'd be all over this auction. It's a beautiful call and I know it sounds good because I've blown a Fred Roe call before. The precision he puts into his calls is as good as you will find.
