I don't have any info other than what you have here. The Old Guide Duck Boat looks to be the same mold. When Thomas first bought this boat, Duckboat Specs was the first place I looked. Interesting tidbit, I'm actually in there under Mash boats with my Duckhunter. 20 years sure flew by..

Since starting this project, we've located two other Madoc boats. One of them belongs to a gentleman in Mass and he has the same boat as "ours." It's an H Model. Thomas actually flew to Mass on business and while there, met this gentleman in person. Very hospitable and showed Thomas a great time, taking him crabbing and fishing. The duck boat community is awesome.

Just the other day, another gentleman posted on Facebook with an "S" Model. This one is rigged for sailing complete with factory mast. That one appears to be in great shape. The s model posted on Facebook is serial 65-005. Thomas's boat is 65-004. Pretty cool coincidence. There are obvious variations and models, but I can't find any literature on them.

Yes - a line or two of webbing across a spray dodger (or spray shield, as well) cannot hurt.

Wait, you are in the specs section that is over 20 years old? Are you this kid?

I think the resources section needs an entry for the Madoc boats. Can you help me gather up the info you mentioned above and any pictures that exist? If we strike while the iron is hot we might be able to tuck away info that someone in the future will find valuable.

Yes sir, be glad to collect what info and pic I can.

That is my Son. He turned 30 years old a few weeks ago.

This is/was me. That boat was credited as being the first customer completed duckhunter. I had it for 10 years before passing it on to a neighbor when we moved.

I did not realize you had been around this site that long. Jeez, the things I miss. Then again, A LOT of folks have been here over the years. Please send me a PM with any info, pictures, links, etc. you have on the Madoc. I will create an entry in the Resources section for it.

The boat is officially complete. We added mahogany coaming stiffeners, grass rails and a jack plate. I'm embarrassed to admit it, but the motor that came on Thomas's boat is a long shaft. The transom is 15" tall. I only saw the mounted motor once it once before he removed it and brought the boat over to my house for rehab. After construction was complete and the motor remounted, we realized it was about 4" too long. It really sucks because it would have been nothing to build the transom a little taller. The Yamaha he has is a gem of a little motor, no chance of getting rid of it for a short shaft, so we added a jack plate. It broke my heart having to drill holes in that transom, but Thomas used half a tube of 3M 5200 when he mounted it, so hopefully, no leaks..ever.

Thomas really "Guccied" the Madoc up with some modern accessories. He added LED light bar/cubes, led running lights/interior lights, a fishfinder/GPS, hydro deck flooring, a custom dodger, cockpit cover and motor cover. With any luck the next post will have a duck or two laid across the bow.
