Boat-less for the 1st time since 1994

Well, for the 1st time since 1994, there is no boat in my drive-way.
Posted my old mod-v jon boat, motor & trailer on craigslist at 9:00 on Saturday and I had a check by 4:00 Sunday. Didnt get what I was asking but got more than my bottom line. So that works.
Now, the serious boat shopping begins. I only have until September to find what I want. :)

What did you sell? Aren't you looking for a 14' tin can now? Just curious?

Oh, you mean all these post and questions up to now and you weren't even serious! (insert strategic punctuation here to indicate scarcasam)

It was a SeaNymph 1440mv jon. Just like the Lowe 1440M if you go to their website.
It was great when it was just me hunting/fishing protected water.
But with a family and how much I fish/hunt Mississippi Sound, I need a bigger more sea-worthy vessel.
Thats why I am looking for wider, deeper 14-16' semi-v (or maybe a newer deep mod-v, but it would have to be deep and the right hull design).

Yeah, I can see the 1440 as too small. My wife has a 1448 mod v for work that I've spent time in some of our river mouths/estuaries and I was not happy with it for that use at all. I'd for sure move to a 16, I wouldn't even consider a 14' no matter the configuration with a kid and dog involved (even if the semi-v is wider than the 1440).

Good luck.

Carl,

I can't imagine what it feels like to be boatless.
Maybe broaden your search area to find what your looking for.
I hear there are alot of tin boats up in the Pacific Northwest and up into Alaska.
Only kidding. Good luck with your quest.
I'm still looking for the perfect boat for my use and have been for years. In the mean time I have been thru over a dozen boats and still have not found "the boat".
Unfortunately I have come down with an illness diagnosed as "lackoffunds" and it keeps me in check with what I can have.

No boats? Not even a canoe, kayak, or dinghy?

I didn't think that was possible.

I think you need to correct this deficiency rapidly, or else you are not qualified to post on this site. LOL.

Must be a strain going around, caught the same illness.

Hey Carl,
Good luck with the search, I'm in the same situation. My son is ready to hunt but the boat is too small to cross the bay. I'm still not "really serious" yet, maybe if I get a tax refund LOL
