Picked up my 1982 Smokercraft 14 Voyager today!
Has a practically new 2003 Merc 25hp 2 stroke on it, with a nice trolling motor, 2 batteries, fishfinder, clamp on lights, 12v outlet, life jackets and a cover.
Hull is in excellent condition for its age. A few scrapes in the paint here & there, but otherwise in great shape. Boat came down from Indianna back in the 90's. The father-in-law of the guy I bought it from was the orginal owner. It was given to the son-in-law in 2002 and that is when he put the Merc on it, probably hasnt been run 40 hours since he bought it. Neither the hull or motor have ever been in saltwater.
Trailer is OK, its painted. With our salty environment, I will be happy if it last 2-3 years, then I will get a galvanized.
The floor & casting deck in it weigh a ton, I bet there is easily 100+ pounds of wood in the boat. Before duck season, both will come out. The casting deck will get kept and stored for fishing season. The floor will get replaced with either lighter wood or an aluminum floor.
Clamp on lights will get replaced too.
Overall, I am happy so far, boat is a little longer & a lot wider (52" floor vs 40" on the old one) and a lot deeper than my old boat. Plus the wide open layout is really going to nice.
And an added bonus is that as of right now, other than the money from selling my 1440 mv and my 4 River layout, the only cash I have in it is one tank of gas in the truck. Not bad for a bigger boat and an engine that is 5 years newer and bigger than my old Nissan 18.
This pic is from the add, havent downloaded mine yet.
