Question: Does the "commercial" tiller come forward from the middle of the engine - and not from the port side as on most smaller engines?

Not sure, looking at it now but it looks like the handle is offset. I dont think it will be too bad to run. I dont want to beat this boat up so as long as I can get on step with it ill be happy haha

The internet is telling me I need 12 to 15 degrees of shim on the motor. The biggest wedges I can find are 10s. Anyone have a lead on some kind of bracket thats at that 12 to 15 degree?

When I built my boat I didn't know any better and my transom is at 90deg probably like your boat. I had to use 2 10deg shims and then trim the outboard.

Yeah, I emailed bobs machine shop. The ones who make the shims. They said 10 degrees will be close enough. I have to look at the motor. Maybe theres a way for adjustment on it?

Current trailer situation.

Obviously its seen better days. The rollers are rust welded in place so im going to push the boat off and see if I can free them up. If thats not happening, ill convert it to a bunk. I really dont want to. I had to do it for my other boat and it took me 2 weeks of messing around to make it right. I'm still not that happy how that one turned out haha

She's really taking shape. I can tell you are putting some hours into her and by the time she's done you will have made a sizeable investment. That will make the hunts out of her more satisfying.

Roller trailers are awfully nice. Might be worth the investment to get new rollers. If you decide to go the bunk route, you might consider applying Wetlander to your hull to make loading and unloading easier.

Im considering the bunk route but I hope the rollers will work.

Both of my trailers were meant for v-hull boats and both of my boats are perfectly flat haha.

Wedges came in. They are massive. I got them with beveled washers too.

Do i have to use 5200 or something when I put the bolts in or does it not matter?

Yes, use some sort of sealant, whether 5200 or just clear silicone on the thru bolts on the transom
