Been working on some camo for boat. Tired of the fastgrass and raffia falling apart so thought I'd go a different route. Started with one bag of Mojo gillie bundles and 54"x12' camo burlap from walllyworld. The burlap breaks down but it also dries on way home @70mph going down highway and alot cheaper to fix. I did same thing around trees stand and left it up all season and held up great.
First I cut mesh to go around cockpit and zip tied to grass rail.
Then cut Camo Burlap Strips about 3"x18"
Then I zip tied groups of three strips of burlap to mesh. Alternating burlap and syn gillie bundles
Once I got approximatly to where the dodger(@ canvas shop) will be I stopped and mounted Eyestraps to cockpit coaming. Then a length of parachute cord is run
in and out of mesh along inside edge. The cord and mesh is zip tied to eyelets after being pulled tight around coaming.
The syn gillie stuff has a lil shine so I hit it with flat camo paint. Also, I put gillie bundles in dryer and fluff w/no heat to add body to them. Just waiting now for cockpit cover and dodger,ho hum. One more gillie bundle bag and one more burlap pack should finish boat.
