Bob,

How many birds have you completed in your career to date? I love your birds, they are a great inspiration to the rest of us cork hackers. Your birds display the amount of detail that be conveyed with releif carving and detail painting of a cork bird.

Kris,

Thank you.
"Billions & billions" ;-) I really don't know... a lot. Started wood-butchering in '76.

Kev,

Val-Oil. People keep telling me it's been discontinued, but I keep finding it on the net and ordering cartons of quarts. Probably have enough to last a while.

Here's the frond mate to that nekkid' pintail hen:

Very nice Bob! Your total decoy count is probably closer to being correct then Mr. Sagan's.

You never cease to amaze me with you the work you do on your blocks...An absolute splendid sight...It will take me a lifetime to even proceed to the halfway mark on producing a block with that much "human" percieved realism...The potatoe head blocks I always carve are still satisfying but would be humored by floating in a pool next to yours...

Great Work,

Kristan

Last year I ordered a gallon of Val Oil off the Internet and they sent me four. I called them right away and told them of the mistake and they said to send the three extras back. I say ,"who is going to pay the shipping?" She says oh just keep the extra three. Nice. Bob
