On my way home Sunday from Portland, Ore. I finally found the bighorns in the gorge. Parked the rig and took off on foot. Here is what I came up with.

Thanks for looking

What a great set of shots, Gary. Love the spring colors you also captured along with those surprisingly healthy looking mature rams. On that third shot down that old boy had one tough year if I read his rings correctly.

Pretty neat Gary.
Im pretty lucky. I have seen them the last 2 times through the gorge. Havent seen the goats in years though.
Saw some Cinnamon Teal yesterday near Turnbull.....

Gary,
Thanks for the great photos. Those rams are always a gotta look for event for us when driving through that area. Some big ones in there too.

Amazing. Love the first with the background of purple lustrife and # 9 is priceless. Reminds of a 4 year old playing peek a boo. He looks like he's smiling at you!
Thanks.

Wow never saw these guys in this kind of focus ! The eyes look very powerful and I assume they can see a long way. Never will understand how these critters can run and jump where they do without falling or busting legs.

That is lupine. I am assuming that Gary had a big lens because I have only seen these animals get to within 150 yards of the highway.

Great shots Gary.

Everytime I see these guys on a drive through there I am amazed how close they take up residence to the highway.
We've seen them down by the guardrail a couple times over the years. You really got some great pics of them.
Brad, I didn't think the cliffs behind them were even 150 yards. I'll have to pay more attention next time.

Great stuff, Gary. I, too, like the shot with the spring colors in the background. When are you going to post up some pictures of a couple dead WA gobblers?

If you need some help, my services are reasonably priced! :)
